Trip to Kilcummin
On Saturday last the Cahir SF travelled to play Kilcummin in match to celebrate their100th anniversary. Cahir won on a score line of 0-11 to 1-7. In a well contested game with Kilcummin's star Mike McCarthy on show and a very vocal Hughie O'Donoghue on the sideline the Tipp men simply couldn’t return home without a win. Hughie almost made a cameo appearance for the Slashers only for Fla to spoil it with a gift of a goal to Kilcummin in the dying minutes, however he made up for his mistake with a fine point thanks to a lung bursting run from Robbie Costigan who laid it off for Fla.
After the game the winning team were fed and watered in Kilcummin’s fantastic clubhouse. Cahir accepted the shield and Man of the Match Benny Hickey was awarded a piece of Kerry crafted glass for his 9-point haul. Hughie in return presented Kilcummin with a clock as a token of appreciation. A great weekend away with special thanks to anyone who helped organise it.
Prior to the game a minute’s silence was observed as a mark of respect to the late Willie Crimmins.

JUVENILE
The final of the football parish league will take place this Saturday at 1.30 in the main field. The A final will be between Tommy Allen’s team and Dylan Washes’ team. Conor Brennan and David English lock horns in the B final. Two very good games are expected and it is hoped as many people as possible will turn up to support the players.
Training for U12’s continues on Wednesday night at 7.00 in Duneske as the lights are expected to be working.
The U10 squad will resume training after the parish football league is over and this will be on Thursday nights. Anyone who needs details on times should contact Andy Moloney, Tom Kelly or Regina Corbett.
The club is now piloting an idea of a boot exchange. As we all know children will grow out of boots more often than wear them out and it can become very expensive. To this end it is hoped that parents with boots that are gone too small for their own children and are in reasonably good condition would donate them to the club and perhaps others could use them. Anyone interested in donating or getting boots can ring or text 086 3964070 and we will see how it goes.
The one and only Geraldine Hickey is taking part in the “Shave or Dye” Irish Cancer Society appeal in association with Today FM. She will be dyeing her hair white but someone suggested she should just leave it for a week or so and she wouldn’t need to dye it at all! Any sponsorships or donations would be most welcome.
