CLUB HISTORY

Colm O’Flaherty and Matty Hussey are making considerable progress with the Club History which is expected to be published early in 2010. They are still seeking information, photographs and documents especially relating to the 1950’s and 60’s and in relation to the Whitelands Hurling team and the Wild Rovers teams of the 1950’s. You can contact Colm O’Flaherty at 052-7442426.

JUVENILE

The U8 squad played a football blitz last Saturday in Cahir. Moyle Rovers, Clonmel and Ardfinnan were the opposition. The lads won one of the games, and although they battled to the end, they were defeated in the other two. A good morning’s entertainment was enjoyed by all those present. The U8’s will now go to the Colaiste for the indoor hurling. This is the ideal opportunity for any young lad wishing to try out hurling. All that is needed is a little enthusiasm as helmets and Hurleys will be provided for those starting. Thursday night at 7.00 in the hall in the Colaiste is where it starts so why not give it a try.

The U10 squad will train on Thursday night (football) 6.30 to 7.30 and Sunday morning 11.00 to 12.00 hurling.

It is intended to start the parish hurling league soon. A club officer will visit the school in the next couple of weeks to get the names of all those interested.
